Meet Our Team
Lead Pastor Michael Burt
Pastor Mike is brand new to our assembly after pastoring in the Great White North for 17 years. He and his wife Pamela have been married for 27 years and are parents to two wonderful young men, David (21) and Aaron (18).
It is pastor Mike's earnest desire to see God's people reach their fullest potential in Christ, contributing to life here at HCC and in the world in which we live.
Pastor Mike is an outdoors-man who feels like a missionary in a foreign land among all the Toronto Maple Leafs fans here. Go Habs Go!
Worship Pastor Cheryl Wilkins
Cheryl serves as the Worship Pastor at Hillside. She is passionate about worshiping God through the gift of music. Cheryl works closely with Pastor Mike cultivating worship services and teams that help lead our congregation closer to Jesus Christ.
Cheryl and her team brings dynamic congregational worship to Hillside offering the best of the old and the best of the new. Her husband Brian serves along side her in our Audio/Visual/Sound department.
Cheryl and Brian have been married for 30 years. They love kayaking, fishing, and hiking with their two Golden Retrievers. They are excited to see what God has in store for them at Hillside in the years to come.
Cheryl is a die hard Leafs fan as well but Pastor Mike does not hold that against her.
Connections Pastor Charlene Gauthier
Charlene serves as the connections Pastor and serves as the assistant to the worship Pastor at Hillside. She has been married to the love of her life, Kevin, for nineteen years and has three wonderful children.
Both Charlene and Kevin have a love for music. Kevin plays the guitar along side Charlene as she plays the piano on the worship team. Charlene has a passion for engaging people to help them connect with God, a friend, a ministry, a small group, or resources.
Charlene loves spending time with her family, playing the piano, singing, reading, studying, Geocaching, and playing games.
Care and Compassion Pastor Sue Smith
As Pastor of Care and Compassion, Sue's function in the church is to work with Pastor Mike, Pastor Cheryl, and Pastor Charlene in ministering to the needs of the church family. She has a heart to visit the sick and shut-in and bring them communion. Sue organizes the email prayer chain and prayer team in the church. She is also there to support and encourage members who are going through difficulties and need a listening ear.
Along with her husband Les, they work as a team helping wherever needed in the body, whenever possible. Les and Sue have been married for 52 years and have two children and five grandchildren. Les is a retired teacher and Sue retired after seven years of teaching high school to be a stay-at-home-mom.
They enjoy helping with the chickens and horses on the hobby farm which they share with their children and grandchildren.
